State of Motion
Busnelli at Milan Design Week 2026
At Milan Design Week 2026, Busnelli presents State of Motion, a reflection on contemporary design as a state of constant transformation.
A system that never settles into a definitive form, but is built over time through variations, adaptations, and relationships.
An evolving form
Living today means navigating ever-changing configurations of space. There is no longer a single form, but a sequence of temporary arrangements: overlapping functions, opening geometries, and redefining needs. State of Motion arises from this condition. Design is conceived as an open structure, capable of evolving without losing coherence.
Systems of the present
The 2026 collection translates this vision into upholstered systems conceived as flexible devices for contemporary living. Detour, Ribbon, Soonix, Montana, together with the evolution of Eclipse and the new Bubble, define a continuous design language. A balance between structure and softness, between architectural form and comfort. Each element is not a closed form, but a possibility for configuration.
Heritage as Continuity
The project includes a reissue of Montana, originally designed by Joe Colombo.
An intervention that interprets the past not as a reference, but as a living material.
The project is reimagined through contemporary materials and sensibilities, while preserving its original identity.
Busnelli Studio
During Design Week, Busnelli Studio—located on the seventh floor of Corso Europa 22—serves as a space for observing the project. A place suspended in the rhythm of the city, where design is not displayed as an object, but as a process. By day, it welcomes professionals and visitors on a journey dedicated to exploring contemporary living. By evening, it transforms into a Listening Room, an immersive environment where design, music, and culture intertwine in a more intimate way.
A state in motion
State of Motion does not define a collection.
It defines a design philosophy.
That of a design that does not seek stability, but continuity in change.
A form that exists only in its movement.
